Just make sure you have the folder for UNREAD mail in your Favorites, Scott.
ALL incoming mail is shown there until read even if it has been directed by
a rule to another folder. Incidentally, if you customize the headings in
UNREAD, you can add FOLDER to the display. That way, you can tell just which
folder an unread message is residing in.

Sometimes I embrace change, sometimes I resist it.  I will (sigh) give the
favorite folders a try!

I think my hesitancy is that I have so many rules set up to automatically
filter into folders (which wouldn't necessarily be my favorite) and I am
afraid of missing it -
