[mso] Re: Corrupted Word 2000 Table

Diane...try this:

If everything in the document is in one table, just hit ctrl+a to select
all...then copy it and paste it into a new blank document. This way you
can play around with it without having problems with your original
document.

Now, in your new document, select all again, the Table>Convert>Table to
Text. Notice, when it converts it, what it is using as a
delimiter...don't make any changes to the defaults, just write them
down. Then, select all again, and go back to the Table menu and
Convert>Text to Table and make sure you use the exact same settings you
used when you converted it the first time. This should put it back
just like it was, hopefully without the corruption.

Hmmmm....I know you took my Word class, and we covered converting text
to tables in there *wink*

Subject: [mso] Corrupted Word 2000 Table

I have a 44 page Word document (Word 2000) that was created from a
template
that puts everything in a table. It also contains 'traditional' tables
that are inserted into the tables that hold the text. I've used this
template for years and today have an error I've never seen before and
don't
know how to find the problem. The message is:

"A table in this document has become corrupted. To recover the contents
of
the table: select the table and choose Convert Table to Text from the
Table menu."

How do I know where the problem lies within the 44 pages of multiple
tables? Is there some way to pinpoint the problem spot? I've never
used
the Convert Table to Text feature of Word but know it will result in a
document that is no longer formatted the way I want it to be...in
tables!

When I click OK on the error message box, the document opens fine and
appears to be formatted correctly. Whatever the problem is is not
visible
to me.

Thanks for any help.
