[mso] Copying Word text that has been edited in Revision Mode

I have some Word 2000 documents that have been reviewed and edited by
others who used Revision Mode (Track Changes).  I need to copy the
content of these documents into new Word documents and have discovered
that all of the track changes formatting and markings were lost in the
process.  The new Word docs into which I copied the edited original
content do have Track Changes set to "Track changes while editing" and
"Highlight changes on screen".

Is there a way to copy these documents so that they retain the track
changes formatting and marking in a new document?
