That symbol you see is a non-breaking space. You can replace that using ^s
or the "Special" menu in Find/Replace.
These instructions at my site will help you if you don't know how to do
this. There's also a link here to a picture which shows a lot of the
"special" characters that you can replace and it shows the symbols you will
see.

Often when I copy the text from an email or web page, then paste same to
Word2000, bubbles similar to the temperature degree symbol appear randomly
between words and sometimes doubling up between sentences.
Attempting to do a find and replace has been unsuccessful.
Any suggestions?
