You can change the DATE PICTURE yourself.

If you select the field and hit Shift + F9, you'll see that it turns into
field code, such as...

{ DATE \@ "yyyy-MM-dd" \* MERGEFORMAT }

Just change the "picture" of the format you want, i.e.,....

{ DATE \@ "MM-dd-yyyy" \* MERGEFORMAT }

This can also be done through the OPTIONS in the date field, but it's faster
to do manually in the code. Then hit F9 and the code will convert back to
the date. You can also then select it and save it as an autotext.

When I am in Word 2003 and select Insert/Date & Time, I no longer find a
format for "dashes".   I can do a 12/19/05 but I cannot find a way to do
12-19-05.  Maybe there's a patch for this?

Any help would be great.
