I'm not sure what you mean when you say your experiments failed. If you
highlight all the cells in your Word table and copy them, then open an empty
Excel spreadsheet and click in cell A1 and paste, the data doesn't come into
Excel? If not, what happens? What exactly is "failing"?

Subject: [mso] Can I extract Data from a Word (table) .DOC to an .XLS chart
and then sort?
Hi all, My boss has just dumped a problem on me, and if anyone can help my
friends here can!! Since the year dot, it seems, quotations have been
created in a Word document table, and now someone thought it would be a good
idea to extract the data from the last x months and draw meaningful
comparisons etc. Before I get someone to go through it all the long way, I
thought I would ask if someone can suggest a way to speed the process. I
thought maybe I could copy and save the table into an Excel or .csv file but
my initial experiments have failed. If anyone has a suggestion I shall be
very grateful, thanks, Roger Bideleux
