I'm often faced with this same problem. Sometimes we don't have control over the format of the data source. I currently do the Word thing but would much rather have an option for dealing with the data as is instead of having to take extra steps to clean or format each time. If a function or bit of code can handle the problem, then it will work every time and those of us who deal with data for a living will be able to save a few steps which means "THEY" can pile on more work...does seem a vicious cycle but still, a one time fix is better than repetitive action every time. /g From: Weiner, Dorothy [mailto:DWeiner@xxxxxxxxxxx]=20 Wouldn't it be easier to bring the information into a word table, select =3D the text and choose Format, Change Case, Title Case? This would involve =3D many easy steps. Not to sound obnoxious but it would have = been better to =3D create two fields, firstname and lastname and you might = want to take the =3D time to do that now. PS. I am a newbie here so please excuse any fumbles.
