Thanks. This is going to be a project. The DB in question does a lot for
us every day. /g

Subject: [mso] Re: Access Linked Tables

Any access version changes anywhere in front end or linked tables, or
other
operating system changes in this time frame? Any service packs
installed
on one or more of the machines using either front end or back end? Is
Novell or Pervasive SQL loaded on any of the machines? There are a
multitude of places to begin troubleshooting, the unrecognized database
error can happen when a lower version tries to open a higher version or
if database corruption, or I have experienced heavy corruptions when
some users had Novell installed and others did not, and the database was
located on a server that was a Novell server. If you can pinpoint any
changes in service packs or other conditions on any box or server that
is operating the database front or back end, that would be a starting
point.

There is also a link here that users seem to experience similar
problems, and you can see many ideas/causes are explored:

Hi All.

I'm getting

Application-defined or object-defined error

when re-linking tables to an MDE in Access 2003. This started about a
week ago and is affecting a database on our Windows network that has not
changed in several months. Additionally, there is a macro that runs
through several queries/make-tables which has worked well for the past
several months. All of a sudden it's giving an unrecognized database
error.

I have no idea what this is about or why it's happening so looking for
clues.

/glenda
