Hi All.
I read about Modules in the Help file. Then I opened a new module just
to see what I'm getting into. It looks scary but I'm ready to take the
leap.
I have several databases consisting of tables linked to ODBC databases
(SCT Banner). I mostly use make table and append queries to extract the
data I need to work with then select queries on those results for
reports which can be columns of figures, letters, mailing labels,
exported to Excel (for charts & graphs) or Word (usually for mail
merges).
I "run" the data using a macro, linked to a button on a form, that
processes each make and append query then have other buttons on the form
to display or print reports.
My users only need to open the form and push whatever buttons makes them
the happiest. For tried and true processes, the database opens up with
just the form in view so my users have no clue as to what's going on in
the background.
If it can be made easier or more efficient, bring it on folks, I'm on a
roll (cinnamon bun actually) ;) /g

Glenda,
AAACCCKKKK! All that work to make things run just right and you are
going to use a macro to run it?!? Maybe next week we can walk you
through writing a module with error handling to run it for you. Using
macros is a lot like driving your car without wearing a seatbelt, not a
big problem when everything is running smoothly, but if something
unexpected comes up, ouch!

It's all working...PERFECT! I just made a macro to run the process and
it's beeeeaaaaauuuuutiful!
This will replace a process that takes typically 5 hours a week,
sometimes more.
Thanks for holding my hand through this. Now I can take the holiday
weekend and enjoy it. Yippee!

Glenda,
Open the Sorting and Grouping Dialog Box from the buttons in the task
bar. There is an option for a section footer. Change that from no to
yes and you will get a footer for each group of records. Add it on the
grouping for your id or whatever you are using to id the person and you
will get a footer for each person.
