[mso] Re: Access Data Type Definition

Christine--

You've got a couple of options here, but the one you'll probably want to go
with I to make each field a data type of 'Long Integer', then create a
Validation Rule of '>9999 And <100000' for the 5 character field, and one of
'>99999 And <1000000' for the 6 character field. This will allow values that
range from 10000 to 99999 in the first field, and 100000 to 999999 in the
second field.

Hope this helps...

Subject: [mso] Access Data Type Definition

I'm creating a new database. There are two fields that are 5 and 6
characters each and the text should be all numbers for each, no letters,
no special characters. Is there a way to set the data type for these
two fields to a maximum of 5 and 6 characters each and all numbers?

Thanks,
