Ray,
In their infinite wisdom MS decided to add help (the exclamation mark
smart tag) but they also expanded some errors. All this means is that
the control has the same name as one of the fields in it (this was ok in
access 2000). So change the name and the error will go away.

Subject: [mso] Re: Access 2003: How to Conditionally Print A LIne In
AReport?
Hi David and Robert,
Well, we are making progress...
I removed the table references and am now using the following
expression:
=3DTrim([PHONE] & [2nd_Phone])
Note that the spelling as well as the upper/lower case are correct, and
the field names have no blank spaces.
I still get the 55-page report with "#Error" on lines alternating with
blank lines, but I don't get the request for parameter values.
I examined the PHONES and 2nd_Phone fields in the PEOPLE table. Field
Size for both are the same length (13 characters). PHONES is a required
field and "Allow Zero Length" is set to "No". 2nd_Phone is not required,
and "Allow Zero Length" is set to "Yes".
When I examine the text box in the test report, I see an exclamation
mark warning which, when I hover over the warning symbol, says, "This
control has a reference to itself". When I open the warning, it says
"Invalid Control
Property: Control Source", and, on a second line, it says, "Circular
Reference".
What does all that mean?
