[mso] Access 2002: What Is Best Remote Access Method: Web? FTP?

Desperately looking for advice on the best method to exchange/update Access
database with remote sites. Have a database the remote sites use, I need
access to their data and to be able to add data once a week for their use.
So far we have been exchanging it via a web 'windows explorer' type of
document transfer site where they upload their latest, I download it, add
my updates, then send it back to them. Have an FTP server we have been
trying to get connected right so the database would travel in a circle, and
the CuteFTP connection would automatically transfer their latest data to
me, and once a week when I needed to add my data, they'd stay out of the
database till I got the updates in and pushed back to them via FTP. That
has not been working, either there have been problems with getting the
to/from paths exactly right, or when I do get their database, sometimes I
can't open it (seems to transfer only a piece of it sometimes).

Noticed Access linked table manager could connect to an FTP location, but
when I put the data tables on the FTP site, then tried to link to them, get
error trying to connect that way, telling me the folder isn't accessible,
folder may by located in unavailable location, protected with a password or
filename contains a / or \. When you add an FTP location from linked table
manager, you can only give it a name, put in user name/password, not
finding how to control/set up the path, so I'm really not sure what it's
looking at.

Bottom line is this testing/failure process has been going on for weeks to
find the best method to communicate with remote locations and I would
appreciate any advice. Please remember I don't know visual basic and have
few tools available except Access 2002, CuteFTP Pro, ODBC. Has anyone had
any experience with FTP/linked tables or other variations or is there a
better method available (reasonable third party software)?

I have looked at Data Access Pages in Access 2002, but I'm thinking it
would require re-creating my data entry forms, and that would be an
extensive re-work I'm not able to support at this time. Also have not been
able to successfully test that process, and not convinced it is a solution.

Appreciate any input, thank you, Cathy
