[mso] Re: Access 2002: Timeline/Schedule Style Reports Possible??

Cathy--

I've done this for quite a number of projects. Basically, it's required
using a crosstab query as the report source. I tried at first to use
Microsoft Graph to represent the data, but found I had better luck and an
easier time simply programatically adding and/or formatting report objects
(labels and text boxes) on the fly, using each report section's OnFormat
event handler. I wish I had a really easy example to show you, but none of
them were really easy. ;-) They have definitely been the most challenging
reports (and forms) I've created.

Good luck, and let me know if I can help you further.

Subject: [mso] Access 2002: Timeline/Schedule Style Reports Possible??

Does anyone know where I could find help or if it's possible to create an
access report that simulates a primavera type timeline?

Example, I have projects 1, 2, 3 . . . . with start and end dates in the
access table. How would I show this in a timeline style on a report so I've
got weeks 1-52 across the header, the projects listed in row on left,
then the periods from start to finish dates marked somehow. Something
like below:

                         Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 . . .

Project 1 __________
Project 2 ____________
Project 3 _________

I'm thinking I would need to extract each week and use some kind of
conditional formatting in the results, but I really don't know where to
begin and haven't had much luck researching on the web. Tried some graphing
reports, but that wasn't quite what's needed either.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any help would be
appreciated.

Thank you, Cathy
