James thank you! Success! I was on the wrong track, thinking I needed the
main table tied to the form, and had created the prompts through the query.
Removed them and got the report to open with the dates filled in. Then
when I checked the queries tied to the sub reports, I had
[Forms]![frm_CPM_QTR_Parameter]![StartDate] And
[Forms]![frm_CPM_QTR_Parameter]![EndDate] in the criteria grid, but should
have put the word Between in front of the expression. Revised them all and
now it works perfectly, thank you so much, Cathy

Cathy,
Are you saying it prompts you for a start and end date? It should just be
a
simple form and you have to enter the dates in the two fields. Make sure
all your queries and sub-queries or reports and sub-reports are referencing
the form for their parameter values. Lastly for validation what you want
to
do is verify that the values entered in the two fields are actually dates.
How are you referring to the form's fields in you queries/reports?

Thanks James, getting closer, got the button on the form to open the
report, just don't seem to have them connected right, the report is still
opening blank. I don't think I have my date fields on the form right cause
when I open it, though it asks for a start and end date, nothing populates
in the form fields. Maybe that is why the report is opening blank. Not
sure how to do the validation portion. Will keep working with it, though,
open to ideas, thanks, Cathy
