[msexchange] NDR returns FQDN of exchange server

I'm noticing that by default NDR reports coming from an Exchange 2k
server (sp4) to outside recipients are being sent with the internal FQDN
of the exchange 2k server.

While technically this isn't a huge security issue, I would prefer that
the NDR return the external DNS name (mail.whatever.com).

I've looked into the masquerade domain field, but the text I've found:

"In the Masquerade Domain field, type the domain name where you would
like nondelivery reports to be sent. This domain name will replace the
default domain name in outgoing message headers."

Seems to indicate that the NDR's will be sent to 'mail.whatever.com' as
well replacing the outgoing message headers with the host name that I
want.

Am I reading this wrong? Is this the spot I need to make the changes to
get the external NDR's to return the host name I want? Will it also
break the delivery of NDR's to internal admins?

If anyone has any insight I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

J
