It was just an MM-rich Ragnar, it seems... Stephen Mueller also was on a team...

Thanks everyone for the support emails, texts, etc. while we were doing the Ragnar Relay... We on "Smells Like Team Spirit" really appreciated our Mountain Miler buddies cheering us on, virtually (some from their waterbed, Cactus Jon??) Hopefully you had a chance to follow our escapades on Twitter, or if you'd like to look back through it all, including some photos along the way, it's here...

We especially want to acknowledge and thank the heroes who volunteered for us doing the tough work at checkpoints, exchanges and corners, in the middle of the heat and the middle of the night... Thank you so much, Deb B, Lyndsie, and Deb K.,... and Steve O who volunteered, then ran a leg for us in a pinch! And for my team, sincere thanks to Karyn and Kam Hott for putting it (and keeping it...) all together... :-) 

Here are the (very) preliminary results...

Smells Like Team Spirit  -  29:31:20
         (Bob K, Kurt K, Jessica O, Kam, Ken, Tom (and Steve O))

Hot Momma's   -   32:35:34
(ultra-team including Heidi, Cindy, Ursala, and Catherine Metz from MM and two others) 

Ernie Goes to Ragnar    -   37:22:12
(including 91-yr old Ernie, and the Fricke's, and John Alfonso, and others) 

6 Hearts, 12 Soles   -  29:11:14
         (Rob from MM was a late replacement runner for this ultra team)

In addition, two other MM's were on two other teams...
Mark Hellenthal was out for a "short little run" with one team (Mark, write in as to your team's result...). He should have just run the whole thing himself, as a "solo ultra"... your next challenge Mark?
And Laura Chavez was on another team, we hear (write in, too, Laura and tell us about it...)
Any others I may have missed, my apologies, and sincere congratulations. After having done this a couple of times now, I continue to be amazed at the level of endurance exhibited, and the sheer will I see on the faces of those running, along with a lot of smiles and laughter (and some of the best written jokes I've seen, painted on the vans!!). It is an experience not to be missed as a runner, to do at least once...

Hello everyone - This morning the Ragnar Del Sol Relay begins in Wickenburg. There are Mountain Milers on three, possibly four or more teams, this year...
In addition to our 6-person ultra team, with me, Ken, Kam, Jessica O, Bob Kec and Kurt Krupnick. "Smells Like Team Spirit"... there is also the Ernie Goes To Ragnar 12-person team (Go Ernie!!)... there are the Hot Momma's, an ultra-team with Heidi, Brooke et. al.... and Rob just joined a team as a replacement runner, on a team the name of which I don't have handy.
As last year, I'll be doing a live Twitter feed for the Smells Like... team through the @MountainMilers account, if you want updates as we make our way. And I'll try to do so for the other MM's teams as I'm able to get updates from them (or they pass us at high speed... Heidi!)
