The lacing on Deb's shoes sounds like the Nike Free. Huh... I have a pair, if

As to minimalist shoes, you might want to keep in touch with Deb Cowell about 
the pair of shoes she came home with from the expo at the P.F. Chang in Phoenix 
last weekend.  She can tell you all about them, I sure can't, but they're light 
as a feather (7-8oz for the pair I think) and are asymetrically laced.  Don't 
know what she gave for them but it was significantly less than you might think, 
and certainly less than $90.  Also don't know whom made them but it's her 
standard brand if you can remember what that is (same folks that make the 
2150's I think).  

Anyway.....if you're interested in mega light shoes, you have another "field 
test" going on in the form of Deb Cowell so keep in touch with her as to how 
her new ones are working out.

Group - here is some exciting news on the minimalist shoe front.  Phil Wharton 
sent me these.  He also said he ran a Thanksgiving race 8K (4.8 miles) in 27:46 
as a "cutdown workout" - where he ran the 2nd half faster than the first half 
--- that is like a 5:45 pace and then he outright won a 1 mile race in 
Pennsylvania in 5:02 and the course had a big hill in it....not bad for a guy 
in his 40's!
