Rob:
It sounds like you have associated the .qif extension with Money Talks.
This is not a good idea, since you must use the Import commands to
import .qif files properly. In the future, Money Talks will not allow
you to directly open QIF files as you describe.
After you download a QIF file, use File Import, and select Register or
Bank, depending on how you want to import the file. After you get your
account straight, be sure to save it with a .mtf extension, not a .qif
extension. It sounds like you were saving a Money Talks file over top of
a QIF file, which isn't a good idea either.
If your QIF file does not import, it is probably not the proper type.
Money Talks supports QIF files which begin with the following lines:
!Type:Bank
!Type:CCard
What is at the top of your downloaded QIF files?

Hi,
I belive that I have solved the problem with MT saying my qif file is
not supported or is invalid.
1 I download the qif file from my bank.
2 I enter on the qif file so it will open with MT
3 from the file menu, I choose export the downloaded qif file as
another qif file.
4 I now can open my MT bank account & import my exported qif file.
I know it sounds confuseing, But it works, & there may be others on the
list that may benefit from this.
Thanks,
Rob
