Jim:
The recurring feature sounds great for this situation. It can be told
to skip weekends, so that helps. In cases where the date is different
than the one which you set up with the recurring feature, you can just
edit the posted date. For example, if I pay XXX Foods $100 on the 15th
of every month, I would first enter the transaction normally. Then, I
would press Ctrl+R to set it up to be recurring, and set the frequency
to Monthly. I would set the Weekend Action options to Next week day, and
the pre-post option to 0. Then on 4/15, the new transaction would post
automatically.
But wait, it was supposed to be on the 20th. In this case, you just
change the date after the transaction posts.
But wait, it was supposed to be on the 10th. A little more tricky, but
can be done. In this case, you move to the last posted transaction of
this type, the 3/15 one, and select Post Next Recurrence from the
Transaction menu. Then, you can change the date of the newly posted
transaction from 4/15 to 4/10.
Hope this makes sense.

Rob,
In my case I receive a number of recurring credits at the beginning of
the
month, but they are not on the same day. In other words the payer and
amount are always the same but the day of payment varies. Also I pay
several bills that are always the same but I do not pay them on the
same
date of the month.
Perhaps I do not fully understand the recurring payment feature, can
it be
used in the above scenario?
