You can have it any way you want. Check out the Layout command on the
view menu. Move to the Pay Name field and press the Move Up button until
the field it is where you want it. Note: you can press Alt+U from
anywhere in the dialog to activate the Move Up Button. You can also hit
space to toggle columns you want to remove from the view.

Having the amount shown before the payee or payer may be desirable fore
some users, however, in my case I have a number of debits and credits
that
remain the same from month to month and having the payer or payee come
first with the amount of the last payment retained is much more
desirable.
Is there a way the user could choose which he wants?
