This would be a cool feature.  If it were implemented, the actual data in
the file should also be encrypted.  I looked at a .mtf file once, and the
data is easily readable without aid of the program.  So if this is
implemented, definitely encrypt the data.  Unix-type systems use a password
system wherein the password is stored in the file, as an encrypted string
which has been encrypted using a one-way method, wherein the unencrypted
password, what you would type to access the file, can not be determined from
the encrypted password.  Instead, the encrypted password contains within it
a key.  When you type in the password, the program uses that key to encrypt
what you typed in.  If the two strings match, you typed in the correct
password.  If not, well, you know the rest.
