Hello folks,
I guess this message could be called, "Where's the bong?"
Let me explain it this way. I go to almost any column except status, lets' say
the item column, type in deb for debit, since I use that name in my debit
column. I get a restriction of debit card items in my register. If I then go
to the status column, and press x, the program further restricts the view to
debit card items that have cleared. The program treats that like the phrase
"debit AND cleared". This is normal and expected.
Now unrestrict with an escape. Go back to debit, type deb, go to the status
line. Press R for recurring. If there is a recurring or group of recurring
transactions that are also debits, only they show up. If none are recurring,
you get a bong and no change in the display.
Same thing happens with the use of u for uncleared items in the status line.
If there are debit items that are uncleared, you get a further restriction, if
not, you get the bong.
However, if you type S for split transactions, if there are debit items that
have splits on them, you get the restriction of debits that have splits, which
is fine. But if there are no debits that have splits, you don't get the bong,
with no change in the display, you get a full view of the register, as if you
had hit escape. This is not consistant with the use of the x, r, and u keys in
the status, and not consistant with the idea that restricting by choosing
columns one after another is akin to using the "and" operator. Is this a
little buglette?
TIA
