When you export such a Quicken account to a .qif file, does the .qif file =
retain information which is not a check number? In other words, does the N =
field contain stuff besides numbers?

I have to agree. I have been using Quicken for years and this is how =
things
are done there. One field contains check numbers, Debit, EFT, Dep. etc.
This could be less confusing to some people if all of that were in one =
field
instead of having a separate field for Deposit / Debit and one for check
numbers.
