Nancy:

Are you certain of where the files are being saved? Also, if you have the
"Load last workspace at startup" box checked, then it'll automatically open to
that account. I don't know what's going on there--I'm just trying to think of
things for you to check, since it's not happening for anybody else.

Hello Steve,

Thanks for that idea I'll try it. I am still having the problem of entries
disappearing from my account. I did go into the back up, and the information
is there, but its getting frustrating to keep up with accounts only to have
entries not show up after I've saved a file.

I'm not sure what is happening. I am getting the question do you want to
save and I answer yes.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Nancy

Hi Nancy,

I'm wondering if you can select a series of transactions by date range,
let's say an entire year, export that to a .qif or .csv file, under the
money talks file menu, start a new register, then import that .csv or .qif
file into the new register and give it a name. Then if you made sure you
had the correct starting balance in the properties, alt+e, you might get
meaningful information out of the register.

Maybe the MT folks can come up with a simpler sollution, because I think
these kinds of issues have come up before.

Nancy,

The short answer is that you can't. Any time you restrict the transactions,
MoneyTalks provides a running balance of those transactions. What are you
wanting to do, when you restrict by date?

Now can anyone tell me how to use the restrict by date, and still have the
bank balance appear.

Also I'm still having trouble using the category summary with all accounts
accept the personal account.

Maybe all of you who use jaws know this command but I just learned that if I
type the letter c on an internet page I can more quickly find the accounts
information. It works to.

Thanks for all the help.

Nancy

I keep all of my transactions from past years but when it comes time to do
my taxes, I create a duplicate copy called 2006.mtf and then delete from it
all transactions before and after that year. In this way I have the best of
both worlds - searching all activity at any time for my account, but being
able to create subsets for special purposes.
