Cheerfully chiming in never having actually had to do it - :)
I would assume that this would be a case where the finish of the tubeplate
holes is far more important than it would be if brazing the tubes in -
arguably the opposite, where one might like to have a slightly rough surface
to facilitate wicking of the solder, but for the rolled tube I would assume
a very smooth (and very round) surface would be preferable.
As I say, however, I don't know - so I'd be interested in hearing the
truth of the matter from anyone that actually knows.
Is there a requirement for thicker tubeplates when rolling? Or narrower?
