Patrick, Our (Australian) boiler code only allows for rolled in tubes. This is actually a huge advantage, as tubes can be replaced easily (especially these days with the decrease in the quantity of copper in the copper tubes and hence shorter life span) regardless of the age and/or condition of the steel.Weapy tubes are also easily fixed during hydro' testing. The only disagreement among builders is whether to silver solder or roll the flue ends. Since I am a copper boiler builder I have no choice but to silver solder but were I to build a steel boiler I believe my preference would be to roll the flues rather than solder.
