Patrick,
     This is common practice amongst steel boiler builders over here and
makes for a good combination.  The only disagreement among builders is
whether to silver solder or roll the flue ends.  Since I am a copper boiler
builder I have no choice but to silver solder but were I to build a steel
boiler I believe my preference would be to roll the flues rather than solder.
