There are a number of problems.
Some are technical, but the main one is that you will NEVER get a valid
boiler test certificate in the UK, and without that will be unable to get
insurance.
On the technical side, there are many good reasons why people stick to steel
or copper for boilers.
Gor a start, to get the boiler tested and certified, unless you use a
standard published design, you will need to submit drawings with full
technical calculations.
Not an easy task unless you have experience in that field.
Then, the joining method (welding or silver soldering) will have to be
checked and tested.
I could go on, but, for simplicity, stick to a published design at first.
Later, with experience you may wish to make changes in some areas, although
the boiler is probably the one that should not be changed.

Hi,
I am new to model engineering and have a question re boilers. Is there any
problem building a working steam boiler for a 2" or 3" scale traction engine
completely from Aluminium. I have a good supply of all sizes for very little
money. I am hoping to build the complete model almost entirely from ali and
not paint it. Not using prototype just building from scratch. I can solder
and weld ali so the joints are not a problem. Ali can withstand high
pressures so is there any problen doing it and getting a boiler test
certificate? All help and comments gratefully received
Julian Harrison.
