Good morning Bruce,
The DRO thing is simply a digital vernier caliper sold by Aldi (a 'cheapy'
supermarket that occasionally has some very cheap items of interest to model
engineers.....they possibly bought a production over-run from the Far East).
The author demonstrated how he fitted it to the cross-slide of his Myford. I
do not think that he intended it to be a permanent fitting, just one to be used
on an "as needs" basis.
Best wishes,
Jem Harrison

Hello all,
I just noticed in the latest issue of Model Engineer (delivered surface mail
here in the States) that the next issue will have an article on a low cost
digital readout for an ML7. I am a subscriber (but the next issue may be 3
weeks off), but I would really like to know what brand DRO is specified. The
issue should be the current issue in England. I would like to research the
relevant product on the web.
