Rich,
David Curwen was bought privately before the main sale, and is now at
Eastleigh Lakeside Railway.
The nursery had previously run an indoor railway for Santa, but then laid
track etc. for the ex-Dobwalls stock. The planning people decided that this
was now change of use of the premesis, which is why they had applied for
retrospective planning permission.

Hi there Alan,
When you say planning application - it would be interesting to know what
the planning application was about if you're happy to expand a bit on
your original e-mail. Did they need a planning application
for a commercial 7.25" gauge railway, or was the issue the buildings
associated with it, or was it change of use from retail to funfair 'type
issue'?
On a slightly seperarate note - I see that one of the smaller locomotives
from the Dobswall line was up for sale a while back on
www.stationroadsteam.co.uk - the blue Curwen locomotive detailed here...
