Most of you will know, or know of, the Dobwalls railway. When it closed there was much speculation about the locomotives, rolling stock etc, until late last year it was sold. The new owners are a garden centre near Bournemouth, in fact, not far from Moors Valley Railway. I see that the railway opened and has run without having planning permission, and the council has now rejected a belated planning application. The owners have 28 days to appeal, and the council appears to be willing to view an application favourably, subject to some (many?) conditions. If all goes well, anyone visiting Moors Valley will have another railway within 3-4 miles, which will surely make a visit to both more attractive. Alan MODEL ENGINEERING DISCUSSION LIST.
