[modeleng] Re: cast fire grate wanted..............

For at least 20 years now, ever since the supply of cast grates dried up,
I've been making them out of 20mm x 12mm mild steel for the slow combustion
stove in the kitchen. They last about 3 years or so, which is as good as I
ever got out of a cast one & that stove runs all day, every day, all year
round.

One little trick is to keep the ash box contents down - if ash is allowed to
build up to grate height you'll burn a grate out reeeeal fast (don't ask me
how I know this)
