Hi John
It was the BSW hex sizes that were reduced during WWII. Prior to that, they
were 1/16" bigger than BSF - that is to say, for example, a 7/16" BSW bolt
had the same size head as a 1/2" BSF. If you see any spanners marked "BSW"
they will fit the pre-war size, and any marked "BS" will fit both BSW
post-war and BSF, as they are the same.
