For many years I'm using a "kitchen bench" fromm IKEA as a bench for my model 
boats and other electronic works and small mechanic. They prooved to be very 
useful with their sets of doors and drawers, as you can find the right 
arrangement for your personnal use. Even the top ( thickness 40 mm) with it's 
special covering is of superior quality (not for brazing or heavy cutting !). I 
even fixed a vice on the left side of mine.
