Phill,

You are better off not having seen the white plague up close enough to
touch.  It causes a lot of our northern model railroad layouts to have to
shut down in the winter.  Luckily, it is a very scarce commodity here in
western Tennessee though I do remember it getting 10" or 12" thick one time
about 45 years ago.. I think that last year it may have got 2-3" deep here
in Troy the one time it blighted the area. (Grandkids liked it though)
