[modeleng] Re: White Metal Bearing Material

No way Jesse, steam oil is way too thick for a white metal bearing.

We had a case some years ago when a cleaner tried to oil up the loco, trying
to help. He put steam oil in the big end and boy did it run hot!!! This was
the only time I have ever seen oil boiling in a bearing!!

Dave,

Think STEAM CYLINDER OIL. There is something that will stay on the
bearings, that and chainsaw bar oil are rather adhesive as well as being
great lubricants.

Dave, would something like "Way Oil" do well in a
 situation like this?
