Life seems to be full of "chores" right now but in spare moments I continue 
with my 2X TICH.  The focus lately has been on the fabrication of the smokebox 
stand/saddle.  This is being built-up of steel plate by a combination of 
welding and brazing and has been a real pig although so far it's coming out 
nicely.  I am an atrocious welder so I knew going in I'd make a mess of that 
part of it, and I considered making a pattern and have it cast in iron, but 
with none except an aluminum foundary available I decided to go with 
fabrication.  The next job will be applying brazed fillets in a few corners to 
simulate a casting.  I've never brazed used brass/brz filler rod before so this 
should be interesting.
