[modeleng] What was it for?

Yesterday I was given a gauge.
3" diameter, it has two dials, the top one, covering around 250 degrees, is
marked, O C to 150 C.
The lower one is marked 0 bar to 4 bar.
On the pressure gauge there is a red marker at the one bar mark, which is where
the moving pointer is, a red line at the 3 bar mark, and a green sector
covering the pressures between 1 and 3 bar.
A picture of it is at, http://www.alanstepney.info/gauge.jpg
Anyone any idea what it might be off?
A second question is, what should I do with it? (Polite suggestions only
please!)
To allow reasonable leeway, it could only be fitted to a boiler running at,
say, 25 - 30 psi, which isnt much use for most models.
Right now I plan to add it to the "things that might come in handy one day"
box.
