Thats something I hadnt considered.
Could well be the reason.
 
Wont work with me though.
I've never given anyone a direct debit and dont intend to start!
 
In fact, I may well move to another hosting company. Got to sort out the domain 
registralion first though.

Hmmm - I wonder if it's a deliberate ploy to drive you towards setting up 
a direct debit for the payment or giving them your card details so they 
can automatically take the money every two years, and personally I'm not 
always happy to do that with just any old company...but especially one 
that seems to have such weird operating practises.
