Al, you ought to get out more!!... We, at the SVR, get 100's a year on
about all sorts of engineering. It goes from rockets... lost on me really...
to stationary engines. We get asked to help out with all sorts of problems.
This isn't easy when you only have 40 mins turn round and have to have a PNB
and get the T-Can filled!..... We do our best!
Dave.

Tim sent me the figures earlier in the week, and I was surprised at how
global our hobby is.
I was astonished at the number of visitors, which seems to indicate that
there is a larger following for model engineering than I would have
imagined.
One item which I found fascinating was that one URL was shown to be US
military.
Will we see the military building traction engines and steam locomotives?
Probably not and it is more likely to be someone with an interest who
happens to use that net for web access.
Nice idea though!

I've been looking at the web stats for Alan Stepney's photos at
www.modelengine.co.uk. The origin of most visits is recorded (they are
deduced by IP address not all can be identified and the identity of the
viewer is not expilicitly given in most cases) so far in order of number of
visits we have:
US, United Kingdom, South Africa, Denmark, Canada, Belgium, Australia,
France, Cyprus, Germany, Norway, Czech Republic, Estonia, Switzerland,
Brazil, Slovenia, Netherlands, Japan.
There is a slightly different ordering if you count by size of download.
I thought it was an impressively wide ranging list of countries.
