        That's why I was reluctant to say outright, on nothing more than
general principles, how problematic I thought this proposal could be.  I
actually had very little information to base a position on, I did not know
your needs, the intended use, your capabilities, or the prevailing market
conditions, etc, so under those conditions I didn't feel justified in
making absolute statements.  (Yes, we all know people who feel free to make
absolute pontifications unsupported by either intelligence or factual
evidence.)  Had I specific personal experience or observation of a proposal
similar to yours I would have said (if appropriate), Do not do this because
X, Y, and Z will result.  Failing that, I chose to offer parameters for
known good practice so you could weigh the drawbacks and advantages of your
idea against these and determine for yourself what path you should take.
