You wait until you have to wear surgical stockings because of varicose 
veins! 'Granny brown/pink' goes best ..........
Plus you need either suspenders (US:garter belt) or spirit gum on your 
legs to stop them falling down....

At the moment, I'm off work for three weeks with sciatica, so avoiding the 
stockings, thank heavens. Damned painful, though.
