[modeleng] Re: Undersea Ferroequinology

Jesse,
I will bet that they contacted the "experts" you have there.
Not a good idea.
The people they should have contacted are the Mary Rose trust, and some of
the other similar experts we have here.
We have many examples of boats etc, that have/ are being, preserved, (Mary
Rose, Saxon boat at Dover, etc) and a lot of expertise in such preservation.

As for those locos, I wonder if there will be enough information to model
them?

When the Hawley's dug up the steamboat "Arabia" out of a
Kansas cornfield a few years back, they submerged the parts in a large
plastic lined pit they dug in Kansas City, Missouri until they could find
out how to conserve them. They tried to get professional help on proper
conservation, but had no luck from the academic community.
