Ron, you may well be correct.
It is many years since I saw /picked up a full size
dome.
At that time, it was one of the very tall ones, and I
am sure it was cast. (In fact, for anything with
height much over diameter, I would imagine it was the
cheapest way to produce one.)
I wonder if that was the case, or is my memory
failing.?
