I stand corrected (offline), it seems only the body shells came from Italy
( http://www.virgintrainsmediaroom.com/index.cfm?articleid=195 ) with the
remaining work being done at the old Metro-Cammell works in Birmingham
(the last trains built there before the site was closed).
