which, if I follow the breadcrumbs correctly, seems to imply they were
probably made in Italy by Alstom Ferroviaria (sp?).

Digging through these manufacturers these days and trying to work out who
bought who, financed by who and so forth, is something of a nightmare
(well, I suppose it would be if I really needed to know. It's more of an
interesting conundrum "from afar").
