Thank you for this Adrian, you are a man after my own heart! Do you come 
from Yorkshire too?  As I will starting off completely from scratch, i.e. 
not working on someone else's kits, I will have the opportunity to set my 
own standard units of measurement and so going fully metric will be 
relatively easy, not to mention the ready availablity of metric nuts and 
bolts hereabouts. I remember Al once mentioning having to make some small 
nuts and bolts, and it did not sound fun.
