[modeleng] Re: The sad decision

Hi Wilfried

I live in St Albans, north of London and went to Sandown Park yesterday in
reasonable weather. The weather is much worse today (and will probably be
so further south). So I think that your decision to stay at home was
probably a wise one.

Unlike Andy, I did not think that this was a very good exhibition. The
main hall was jammed with anonymous suppliers' stands - for some reason they
did not display their usual elevated name signs, and it was difficult to
find out who was who (perhaps I should have bought a programme!). Most of
the models were in little side rooms up and down stairs. It certainly was
not a vintage exhibition, so maybe you have no missed too much!

It suited me well, as I was selling and buying some bits-and-pieces from
fellow model engineers, and this gave me the pleasure of meeting them and
avoided the nuisance of packing and posting.

I hope that the weather will smile on you at the end of January, when you
visit the Alexandra Palace.

Groeten in het Nieuwe Jaar!

Hubert
