Hi Tim
Bit of a long shot but what about drilling 2 small holes oposite each other
in the filter mount and putting a small rod through to act as a tomy bar? I
know it sounds daft but the filter is scrap anyway, and if you cant get it
of so is the lense!
Andy

Tried that one Clif but no luck. Don't fancy WD40 as it'll mess the iris
blades. Not too happy about big temperature differences in view of the risk
of damaging the balsam between the elements. It is only a Pentax M 28mm 2.8
which is worth around GBP60 but I'm still a bit reluctant to discard.
Thanks to all so far for the advice.
