[modeleng] Steam at Bradford on Avon

Hi,

The loco you saw at Bradford-on-Avon was ex GWR pannier tank, 5764 from the
Severn Valley Railway, a loco I have fired and sriven many times. (Not bad
little loco for a wester bucket, a poor mans Jinty!!). The engine was
promised a while ago, before we ended up in major trouble. With a bit of
luck, it might have generated a few quid towards the £2,000,000 we are going
to need to finance the infastructure repairs, putting back 150yr old
embankments etc is not a cheap thing to do.

Anyone wishing to contribute to the flood fund, give me a shout and I will
forward the details.

Cheers,

Dave.

Bradford on Avon railway station is celebrating 150 years=2E To mark the
event last weekend they had a Great Western steam engine in light steam (o=
n
loan from Forest of Dean I think)=2E Associated with this event was an
exhibition that included a model railway and this is the point of this
e-mail=2E

At adult eye level there was a small diorama with Thomas the Tank engine
and a person holding a welding torch=2E The dialogue under the diorama we=
nt
a bit like this:

"Hello" said Thomas, "I am Thomas the Tank engine, who are you=3F"
The torch replied, "I am Gertie the Gas Axe"
"Oh bugger!" said Thomas=2E
